I used to do my own music and tab calligraphy but with this arthritus I now avoid hand writing as much as possible. There is NO repeat command that I can find that will do the A part twice and then the B part twice - let alone tunes with a differing number of repeats.īanjo Brad has done some tabs for me in the past but this is a massive undertaking I'm talking about and I really should be able to do this for myself - I can't ask anyone else to do it. I can't make the help files even work so I have to "find" every control the hard way and some simply don't seem to exist. Or - probably lots of stuff I haven't thought of yet Or if one can put new tunings on the list the program comes with instead of having to re-do it for each file. Or if one can divorce the music from the tab so a fiddle arrangement can be made without starting over - having that banjo "Dy" (as in Bum Did-Dy) pooching up the fiddle line is truly maddening. Or if one can cut and paste rather than having to re-write every repeated measure. Or show pickups without having to have an empty measure at the beginning - something which really screws up the midi playback - there has got to be a way to have a short measure at the end too.

I am however, having some insurmountable (by me) problems with the program and I hope I have the attention of someone who knows how to make Tabledit do things like. There are probably a lot I couldn't figure out too, but there are so many I could do in a heartbeat and I can do multiple versions to suit the tabs to abilities and interests - I am after all a teacher. I also know I can provide tabs for lots and lots of the clawhammer tab requests on the forums, as there are many tunes I've never played but could learn in minutes and tab out in - whatever - either never or judging by my "Ship In The Clouds" tab -about 15 minutes. Save for a mailing fee for the disc - a couple bucks.

The plan is to make these available to anyone who wants them: If you know of something that knocks it out of the running - even if it is more expensive - I'm still open to trying other programs (windows only - alas). of Intervals".I have at least 400 tunes either written down or in my head and plan to get them into an extremely readable format this summer (too hot outdoors for me from June to September) So far Tabledit seems to work the best, but I'm not committed to it yet - Meaning I haven't bought it, I'm working with the demo. If you changed the capo of the banjo and guitar to "4" instead of "3", you would click the up button for the "No. Since you went down one step, click the down button for the "No.

If the original tab has the banjo and guitar capoed at the 3rd fret and you want to change it to the 2nd fret, change the position of the capo for the banjo and guitar to "2" instead of "3".Īfter that, highlight the whole bass track. For every fret position that you go up or down, increase or decrese the "No. The easiest way to do this is highlight the whole track of the bass or the mandolin. If you adjust the key of the song, you will also have to adjust the bass and the mandolin keys. If you want to capo at the 2nd fret, make it "2". There is a place to adjust what capo position you want. You can adjust the key of the song by going to "score" then "instrument". It you want it to stay a constant tempo, just delete the tempo marks.

If the writer of the tab inserts a tempo mark in the song, it overrides the overall speed in the "midi options".
